Main Scriptures: James 1:5; Proverbs 4:1-7; Psalm 84:11; John 14:14; 1John 5:14; James 3:13-16; 1Corinthians 1:20-22; Proverbs 1:2
The bible says, other than Jesus Christ, Solomon was one of the wisest man who has walked on earth. There are two types of wisdom; Godly-wisdom and human wisdom. Our focus is God-wisdom. This is the wisdom Proverbs 4 talks about- wisdom of good doctrine. The author Solomon writes, do not move away from it and implies that wisdom is something that can be acquired. In other words there is no reason for foolishness.
Wisdom is not based on what you know, it is based on what you do. A wise person is seen by his/her deeds. How he lives, speaks tells us about his wisdom. Wisdom is not experience, there are people who are experienced but are fools. Wisdom is not cleverness; Judas was clever but had no wisdom. You can be clever at school yet a fool. Wisdom is knowing when to speak and when to keep quiet. It helps you to adapt in any environment.
The bible describes wisdom as the principal thing, meaning its the main thing you should seek after before material things. It is wisdom that will give you ideas on how to even make money and will help you raise your children.
Anyone who is born again can have wisdom. Anyone can have wisdom its available for those who ask for it by faith. “God will not withhold any good thing ..” (Ps 84:11). So if we ask for wisdom, He will give it. Recognize Godly wisdom; you can’t have it if you don’t recognize it and receive it; the bible says the church in Thessalonia received the word with joy.
