“You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here.”
We don’t worship a dead God, we worship a resurrected Christ! He did not end on the cross; but He resurrected from the grave, this makes the message of the gospel powerful. The resurrection of Christ is told in the gospel of Mark but it was predicted in the Old Testament years before it was witnessed here. The resurrection did not come as an incident; we were foretold that there will be a Messiah, the tomb won’t keep him. There are other gods that are worshipped that are all dead, if you go to their tombs you will find their bones, but Jesus’ tomb is empty. He is the only living God!
Jesus promised that he would die but will rise from the dead on the third day. And this promise He kept, like He will keep every other promise He has made to us because Jesus, unlike man is a promise keeper. Jesus’ resurrection is not a fact but truth. Because this is truth it must be proclaimed! Like Jesus’ disciples and the apostles of the early church went around proclaiming this truth we too ought to do so. The apostles went to every city and village proclaiming the resurrection power that could not keep Jesus in the grave. They too received the power to go around and preach, they could do what they could not do before. The power of Jesus’ resurrection lives inside of us when we have accepted Him as our Lord and Saviour. We don’t fear anything, we are able to do things we couldn’t before because of this power.
Now that he has risen, there is no reason to remain in our graves; in bondage, bound family strongholds, in curses, there is no reason to remain stagnant. The devil has been defeated! Because of Jesus we don’t move to victory, we move from victory. We can face tomorrow because our King Jesus lives. There is hope in resurrection- it is the basis of our hope!
